A Kenya Polytechnic graduate student named James Wari in 1997 started a mechanical contracting firm and named the company Recot, which means "Refrigeration and Cooling Technologies" a word that we have lived and exceeded its reputation, to reflect his ambitions for the business. Known as "Mr Fix It" to his friends, James has passionately guided Recot for over 23 years, laying the reverence for the service and installation innovation Recot is known for today.
In the 2000s, a decade that saw gradual uptake of HVAC and Refrigeration system to middle-sized class, Recot was at the heart of this expansion and we can pride ourselves to be one of the few local-based industry pioneers. We experienced unprecedented growth. While most people were working on makeshift methods, Recot was doing its best to keep the Nairobi Metropolitan Area cool and comfortable.
